A distributor of books whose contents are aimed at inciting national hatred has been detained in Moscow.

Employees of the operational-search bureau of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Central Federal District detained in Moscow the 50-year-old leader of the Great Russian National Party Alexander Chervyakov , who was distributing books "the content of which is aimed at inciting national, racial and religious hatred." This was reported by law enforcement agencies on May 4, 2007.

The Butyrskaya inter-district prosecutor's office of Moscow opened a criminal case against the detainee.

According to the materials of the investigation, from February to May 2007, he sold 176 books and 48 leaflets with extremist content. "During a search in the detainee's apartment on Altufevskoye Highway, 620 books, 210 leaflets and 128 video cassettes with similar content were found and confiscated ," the law enforcement agencies said.
