We are publishing an analysis of the results of the next, sixth , stage of monitoring hate speech in the Russian media. The study was conducted by the SOVA Center from September 1 to December 31, 2006 and was presented for the first time at the conference "Hate Speech and Xenophobia: Russia, XXI Century" held on February 8, 2007 at the Moscow House of Journalists.
The previous steps were:
in November 2002 - February 2003, monitoring after the terrorist attack on Dubrovka;
in September-December 2003 - parliamentary election campaign ;
in September-October 2004, after the events in Beslan .
in September-October 2005, the anniversary of the events in Beslan
This monitoring included 1 daily and 7 weekly TV programs; 8 daily and 5 weekly newspapers - a total of 21 editions and TV shows.
