An anti-Semite was sentenced in Ulyanovsk

The Leninsky District Court of Ulyanovsk passed a sentence under paragraph "a" part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting national and religious hatred with the use of violence or the threat of its use) in the case of 18-year-old student of the Ulyanovsk State Technical University Dmitry Levanov. D. Levanov was sentenced to 2 years of suspended liberty for two attacks on the building of the Jewish community center at the end of December 2006.

The investigation established that on December 25, 2006, D. Levanov threw a Molotov cocktail into the building of the Jewish community center, breaking the glass in the accountant's office, and pinned a leaflet offensive to Jews with a knife to a tree. On December 27, being in a state of intoxication, he and his friend Denis Shilnikov again committed an act of vandalism, breaking glass and a mirror in the building of the community, after which they were detained.

During interrogations, the accused confessed to the anti-Semitic views that he had formed after reading the books of Grigory Klimov. During searches, anti-Semitic literature and a leaflet layout were confiscated from his house.

The second accomplice in the crime - D. Shilnikov, who was also involved in the case, was found not guilty by the court. The court considered that he "did not realize the criminal nature of his actions", since earlier, unlike D. Levanov, he did not show anti-Semitic inclinations.
