A protest rally against the social media project of Protestant churches “Feel the power of change” was held in Nizhny Novgorod

May 15 in Nizhny Novgorod, members of the regional youth movement "Region 52" held under the slogan "Caution - a sect!" a protest action against the social media project "Feel the Power of Change", implemented in various cities of Russia by the Commonwealth of Christian Churches (Pentecostals, Baptists, Seventh Day Adventists, etc.). The organizers of the action collected more than 100 signatures in an hour under an appeal to the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

As NewsNN reports, "the appeal to the governor expressed concern that the event" Feel the power of change "is being held by a group of religious organizations, while the printed materials distributed by them do not indicate the full names of religious organizations-organizers. This contradicts paragraph 3 of Art. 17 FZ N 125-FZ "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations" dated June 29, 2004.

Meanwhile, Archpriest Igor Pchelintsev, spokesman for the Nizhny Novgorod diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, said in an interview with an agency correspondent that the diocese would not take any action against the organizers of the "Feel the Force of Change" campaign and would limit itself to explanatory work. However, at the same time, he added: “My assumption as a citizen, the work of the Feel the Force of Change Social Assistance Center is another rehearsal of the Maidan. From this action it is clear that money comes from outside, which is mastered in unconventional ways to destabilize the spirit, the civil environment "We see that this money is readily taken on television, in advertising companies... These people are groping for a springboard for the future Orange Revolution. Creating public unrest, they aim to make a kind of undermining under the government, and not under the Orthodox Church. To Orthodox and non-church people do not be afraid of this political pseudo-spiritual arrogance."
