On the night of June 2, 2007, in the Krasnogvardeisky district of St. Petersburg, vandals desecrated and set fire to a chapel in the name of the Nativity of the Virgin,
Unknown persons drew a swastika on one of the walls of the chapel and left the inscription "Glory to Hitler!", and also threw a Molotov cocktail through the window.
The arson did not cause serious damage to the chapel, in which the door and a small fragment of the wall were only partially burned. On this fact, an investigation is being carried out, the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.
