The Moscow Arbitration Court supported the ECB Church, which demands that the Balashikha administration re-register the site as property

On June 5, the Moscow Arbitration Court satisfied the claim of the Saltykov Church of Evangelical Christians-Baptists to recognize the inaction of the Balashikha City District Administration as illegal.

In 2005, the church applied for permission to acquire ownership of a land plot that was in the free, perpetual use of the community. The Department of Property Relations of the Balashikha District refused, referring to the fact that, in addition to the prayer house and the Sunday school, there is an economic block and a boiler house on the site. Since the latter are not buildings for religious purposes, the administration found it impossible to re-register the site.

In February 2007, the Saltykov community decided to challenge this decision in court. Representatives of the administration argued that the church missed the three-month period established by part 4 of article 198 of the Arbitration Procedure Code of the Russian Federation for challenging its inaction in court, but the court did not take these arguments into account.
