Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika called for streamlining the issuance of entry visas to foreign citizens who come to Russia for the purpose of conducting religious activities.
"Missionary activity initiated from abroad has led to an increase in the number of new religious movements. In this regard, it is necessary to resolve the issues of missionary activity on the territory of the Russian Federation," the Prosecutor General in Makhachkala said at a conference there on countering religious and political extremism.
Yu. Chaika believes that it is necessary to discuss the issues of developing a training program for personnel in religious educational institutions with the involvement of representatives of "traditional" confessions, as well as to organize control over compliance with the prohibition of propaganda of extremism in educational institutions.
