Another school textbook on the history of religions has been created

Since September 2007, a new textbook, “History of Religions,” written under the editorship of Andrei Sakharov, director of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will be tested in schools in Tatarstan. The manual presents the history, dogmas, sacraments and rituals of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism.

“This is a great event, since for the first time in our country such a universal, voluminous, educational textbook has been created, which allows us to get a deep and comprehensive understanding of the largest religions that are stationed in Russia,” A. Sakharov said at a press conference.

The course "History of Religions" is intended for students in grades 10-11 and is designed for 34 hours (with the possibility of extension to 68).
