Hizb ut-Tahrir members sentenced in Bashkiria

The Tuymazinsky District Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan sentenced Ildar Akhmetyanov, born in 1984, and Rasul Mullagaleev, born in 1981. and Rustamu Nafikovu, born in 1984 They were accused of involvement in the activities of "Hizb ut-Tahrir", calls to change the constitutional structure of the Russian Federation and waging jihad.

I. Akhmetyanov found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282-2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“organizing the activities of a public or religious association or other organization in respect of which a court has made a final decision to liquidate or ban activities in connection with the implementation of extremist activities”) and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison on probation with a trial period of 1 year.

R. Mullagaleev and R. Nafikov were found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 282-2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“participation in the activities of a public or religious association or other organization in respect of which a court has made a final decision to liquidate or ban activities in connection with extremist activities”) and sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment with suspended sentence probationary period of 1 year.

The defendants pleaded guilty.
