On June 20, 2007, a native of Azerbaijan, Bagirov, was stabbed to death in Volgograd.
Suspected of the murder, local residents David Bashelutskov and Stanislav Lukhmyrin were put on the wanted list. They were detained in Moscow in January 2009 on suspicion of attempting to blow up a McDonald's restaurant.
It is also known that two of their accomplices were detained by Volgograd law enforcement agencies and convicted. However, the details of the trial and the date of sentencing are unknown. It is only known that it was Bashelutskov and Lukhmyrin who were named by the defendants as the main initiators of the murder.
