A new examination has been appointed in the case of Bashkir oppositionists

On June 20, 2007, a regular meeting of the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa took place, at which it was decided to send publications in the Provincial News newspaper, which, according to the prosecutor's office, are extremist, for a new linguistic examination.

The defendants petitioned the court for an independent expert examination, the illegality of the refusal of which had already been confirmed by the same Kirovsky District Court in October 2006, but the judge appointed the Republican Ministry of Justice as an expert. The defendants protested.

Bashkir oppositionists Airat Dilmukhametov and Viktor Shmakov are charged under Part 2 of Art. 280 (“public calls for extremist activity”) and Part 1 of Art. 212 ("organization of riots"). Note that the accusation of organizing mass riots in the absence of the riots themselves is unlawful.
