On July 5, 2007, State Duma deputy from the Rodina party Andrei Savelyev, known for his far-right views, stated that on June 15, 2007, based on one of his appeals, the inquiry department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Central Administrative District of Moscow opened a criminal case on the fact of public libel spread by the Center " SOVA" in relation to the deputy and secretary of the Central Council of the Great Russia party Sergei Pykhtin. This, according to Savelyev, became known from the response to his request, signed by Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Grin.
Our center knows nothing about this criminal case. It is not entirely clear which texts from the SOVA website we are talking about, but some time ago on the Kremlin.Org website, the deputy published his request to the prosecutor’s office , which, among other things, contains a demand to check the material from SOVA , which is not dedicated to himself deputy, and the website of the “Russian Project” of “United Russia”. On our website it was said that, among others, the information partner of the Russian Project was the Golden Lion magazine, which publishes openly racist articles, and that the editorial board of the magazine included Savelyev and Pykhtin. However, it is possible that the prosecutor’s office opened a case based on some of our other materials.
Be that as it may, it does not seem to us that the matter has any prospects, in particular because the characteristics “ultra-right”, “right-wing radical” and “racist” that seem offensive to Savelyev or anyone else, which are often used in our website, describe the ideological attitudes of the characters who come into our field of vision, and are by no means accusations of anything.
