DPNI fighting with the police?

On July 20, 2007, at about midnight in St. Petersburg near the Ladozhskaya metro station, a fight broke out between natives of the Caucasus and young people of "Slavic appearance".

According to preliminary data, at first there were two people on both sides, after some time several more people from the Caucasus joined the fight. One of the "Russians" was struck in the head. The cause of the fight was not reported.

A police squad arrived at the scene and delivered the participants of the fight to the 52nd police department. By one in the morning, DPNI activists arrived at the department and began to demand the release of the detained young people. There was a clash between DPNI members and police officers. One of the arrivals was also detained.

It should be noted that the reasons for the fight are unclear, but it is characteristic that the conflict developed according to an already worked out scenario. It is indicative that for the first time in such conflicts it becomes known about the brawl between the DPNI and the police, as a result of which the DPNI activist was detained.

Later, another version of what happened became known. According to Krasnogvardeisky district prosecutor Andrei Stepantsov, the conflict occurred because 3 natives of Dagestan stood up for a police officer who was attacked by 6 drunken young people whom he tried to call to order. After that, there was a collision.

A police officer called for help on a mobile phone, and as a result, 3 young people were taken to the 52nd police department, and 2 Dagestanis were taken to the hospital. One of them had a leg injury and a broken finger on his arm, and the other had facial injuries.

In the department, in relation to 3 detainees, protocols were drawn up on an administrative offense - "petty hooliganism". Two of them stated about the injuries inflicted on them and demanded to call an ambulance, which was done by the police officers. The young people were taken to the emergency room of the Alexander Hospital, from where they fled.

Currently, all the circumstances of the incident are being checked.
