The Prosecutor General's Office has published statistics on extremist organizations and crimes

On July 26, 2007, at a meeting of the collegium for the implementation of legislation on interethnic relations and countering extremism of the Prosecutor General's Office, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika announced that there were up to 150 extremist associations in Russia, most of which have a "clearly expressed nationalist orientation " . These associations include about 10 thousand people, mostly young people aged 16-25.

According to the Prosecutor General, in the first half of 2007, the prosecutor's office issued 6,354 acts of response in connection with violations of the law on interethnic relations and countering extremism. According to the results of prosecutor's checks, 108 criminal cases on crimes of an extremist nature were initiated.
