The President of the Russian Federation signed an anti-extremist law

On July 26, 2007, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the federal law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation in Connection with the Improvement of State Administration in the Field of Counteracting Extremism."

The law, passed on July 6 by the State Duma and approved on July 11 by the Federation Council, provides for a number of amendments to anti-extremist legislation.
