Leaders of the Ryazan RNU convicted

On August 15, 2007, Oleg Panfilov, head of the regional branch of the Russian National Unity, and his deputy, Boris Parshin, were convicted in Ryazan.

They were found guilty of inciting ethnic hatred by an organized group (clause "c" part 2 of article 282). The prosecutor's office demanded a one-year suspended sentence for the accused. However, the punishment determined by the court was different - a ban on holding leadership positions and membership in the RNU for 5 years, as well as joint and several reimbursement to the state of funds spent on conducting an examination of materials distributed by RNU activists in the amount of 59 thousand rubles.

Recall that a criminal case was initiated in connection with repeated appeals to law enforcement agencies of the Ryazan School of Human Rights (headed by Sofia Ivanova). Prior to that, in October 2006, for these materials, the RNU itself received a warning about the inadmissibility of carrying out extremist activities.
