The court toughened the punishment for S. Dmitrievsky

On August 17, 2007, the Nizhegorodsky District Court granted the petition of the District Penitentiary Inspectorate against human rights activist Stanislav Dmitrievsky to impose additional obligations on him: he is prohibited from committing administrative offenses under the threat of replacing a suspended sentence with real imprisonment.

It should be reminded that on February 2, 2005, S. Dmitrievsky was sentenced to two years of probation for publishing the appeals of Akhmed Zakayev and Aslan Maskhadov.

In the spring of 2007, Dmitrievsky organized the Marches of Dissent. On June 5 and 6, 2007, the Magistrate's Court ruled that he be brought to administrative responsibility for organizing public actions not sanctioned by the authorities. After that, the inspector of the Interdistrict Penitentiary Inspectorate No. 3 for the Nizhny Novgorod District of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Marina Zaitseva, issued a written warning about the possibility of canceling the conditional sentence. This warning was not issued to Dmitrievsky in his hands, because of which he could not appeal against it in court.

Then the penitentiary inspection demanded to impose additional obligations on the human rights activist in court. As noted in a press release from The Other Russia, the court's decision means replacing the suspended sentence with imprisonment in the event that "if Dmitrievsky neglects his obligations and continues to take part in opposition actions unauthorized by the authorities. However, any other actions may lead to the same result." administrative offenses - for example, crossing the carriageway in an unspecified place " .

On October 2, S. Dmitrievsky received by mail a resolution of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated September 11. As follows from the document, the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, following the results of an inspection of the Foundation in Support of Tolerance conducted on August 29, saw in Dmitrievsky's actions signs of a crime under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("installation of unlicensed software"). The materials of the check were sent to the prosecutor's office of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.
