The court upheld the claim of the ARNS against S. Bychkov

On August 30, the Presnensky Court of Moscow satisfied the claim of the World Russian People's Council against journalist Sergei Bychkov and the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets for the protection of business reputation.

The court ordered S. Bychkov to publish a refutation of the information contained in the articles about the ARNS, and to collect 10 thousand rubles from the journalist and the newspaper as compensation for moral damage. Let us recall that the plaintiffs estimated the moral damage caused to them at 200 thousand rubles.

On October 31, the decision came into force.

On April 8, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper published an official refutation of a number of information about the XI World Russian People's Council, which were contained in the publications of Sergei Bychkov.

The text of the refutation states that the information published in the articles by S. Bychkov “Lord Dynamite” in the issue dated March 6, 2007 and “The Council was not allowed to the box” in the issue dated March 9, 2007, “does not correspond to reality, did not take place in reality and discredit the business reputation of the International Public Organization "World Russian People's Council," reports Interfax .

Let us recall that in March, the director of the Human Rights Center of the Russian Orthodox Church, Roman Silantiev, proposed filing a lawsuit to bring the publication's officials to criminal liability for failure to comply with a court decision to refute the information contained in S. Bychkov's articles. According to R. Silantyev, bailiffs tried unsuccessfully for several months to get Moskovsky Komsomolets to execute court decisions.
