The list of the "People's Union" includes pogromists, neo-Nazis and others

On September 20, 2007, the pre-election congress of the "People's Union" party of Sergei Baburin was held in Moscow, at which the pre-election list of the party was approved. The first three were Sergei Baburin, Viktor Alksnis and director of the Spas TV channel Alexander Batanov.

Unfortunately, to date, the full list has not been published, however, reports have already appeared on the right-wing Internet about some candidates who will run for the State Duma together with Baburin.

The most famous among these candidates are ex-LDPR member Nikolai Kuryanovich and RONS leader Igor Artemov.

N. Kuryanovich headed the list for the Irkutsk region. Currently, N. Kuryanovich is a member of the central council of the neo-Nazi Slavic Union and at the same time the fundamentalist Union of Orthodox Banner Bearers.

Igor Artemov, who topped the list in the Vladimir region, became widely known after the homophobic pogroms in the spring of 2006, which were organized and coordinated by his organization. Recall that in December 2006, Artemov lost the case on registering the RONS as a political party in the European Court of Human Rights, and the ethno-nationalist nature of the organization was especially noted in the court's decision, which is dangerous for society.

In the Stavropol Territory, the list includes the leader of the regional RONS Alexander Chernovolov - one of the organizers of the June anti-Caucasian rally in the city, which almost ended in mass pogroms. In June 2007, a case was opened against him under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.

The "NS" list includes both ethno-nationalist veterans and ultra-right youth.

Of the veterans, in addition to I. Artemov, one can note the leader of the Union "Christian Renaissance" Vladimir Osipov and the leader of the Kursk Union Archangel Michael, a member of the Union of the Russian People (in the version of General Ivashov) Alexander Soluyanov, the leader of the Irkutsk RONS and already another wing of the RNC Alexander Turik.

From the "youth" we note Roman Golovkin - one of the leaders of the far-right Russian National Bolshevik Front, Mikhail Valyaev - a right-wing radical activist, known for participating in at least one violent action - an attack on September 6, 2006 on a picket against the introduction of the military-industrial complex in schools.

The list of far-right candidates is not exhausted by this - blogs friendly to the organization contain a list of nicknames whose owners were included in the list of the "People's Union"; judging by their LiveJournal, almost all of them adhere to ultra-right, and sometimes openly neo-Nazi views.
