On September 27, 2007, the prosecutor's office of the Central District of Voronezh opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 282 (incitement to national hatred) against Dmitry Rumyantsev, one of the leaders of the National Socialist Society, on the fact of his statements at a rally on July 21, 2007.
The criminal case was preceded by a pre-investigation check, during which an examination of the statements of Dm. Rumyantsev was carried out, which were recorded by employees of the organized crime department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Voronezh Region who were present at the rally.
It should be noted that in a press release from the Voronezh regional prosecutor's office, D. Rumyantsev was named the leader of the Voronezh department of the Union of the Russian People. However, this is a mistake, apparently due to the fact that it was the Voronezh "SRN" that was the official and sole organizer of the rally at which D. Rumyantsev spoke.
The event was positioned by the NSO as an alternative to a similar rally, the official organizer of which was the Party for the Defense of the Russian Constitution (MANPADS) "Rus", whose active members are ex-members of Russian National Unity. And from the very beginning, the Voronezh "Union of the Russian People" was not even considered as an equal partner at the rally.
