The head of the sector of the Synodal Department, Priest Alexander Shestak, on the pages of the Red Star, spoke about the teaching of Orthodox disciplines in military universities.
The priest mentioned several Moscow military universities where courses on "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" are taught or an agreement has been reached on teaching: the Military University, the Military Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces. Peter the Great, Moscow Police School, University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "The situation is worse in other military educational institutions," the article says.
In general, in the Russian regions "the situation is better", in particular, in the Smolensk and Saratov regions. At the same time, "there are difficulties in the Moscow region" with the introduction of Orthodoxy courses in military universities.
As the main difficulties with the inclusion of Orthodox disciplines in the programs of military universities, Father Alexander Shestak called the lack of a clear position of the Ministry of Defense on this issue and the shortage of personnel.
