On October 11, 2007, at the dacha of the Bashkir opposition leader Airat Dilmukhametov, officers of the Organized Crime Control Department detained ethnographic students suspected of preparing a protest action on the eve of Vladimir Putin's visit to Ufa. On October 12, the students were released.
Simultaneously with the detention of the students, the officers of the Organized Crime Control Department conducted an unauthorized search and seized several copies of Dilmukhametov's books "Warriors Against Bastards" and "The Anniversary of the Mankurts".
Recall that A. Dilmukhametov is charged under Part 1 of Art. 212 ("organization of riots") and Part 2 of Art. 280 (“public calls for extremist activity”) for publications in the Provincial News newspaper. The trial in this case has been going on since April 2007, and a new expert examination was appointed in June .
After the search, the Kirovsky District Court considered the prosecutor's office's petition to change Dilmukhametov's preventive measure from a written undertaking not to leave to arrest. The basis for the petition was the seized books, in which the prosecutor's office saw extremist appeals. The court denied the request.
