The draft law providing for state accreditation of educational programs of religious educational institutions, which was submitted to the State Duma in September 2007, was adopted by deputies on November 13 in the first reading.

At the same time, the draft law establishes that graduates of religious universities and schools receive state diplomas that do not contain images of state symbols of the Russian Federation. This gives the graduates of spiritual institutions the right to work in their specialty in secular institutions, which they were previously deprived of.
These norms apply to religious educational institutions of all confessions operating on the territory of Russia.
