A drunken resident of the city Alexei Chebrov, having quarreled with his wife that day, left home and for no apparent reason attacked a man of non-Slavic appearance who was passing by (as it turned out later, an ethnic Uzbek named Inamdzhanov).
As a result of a severe beating, during which Chebrov shouted racist insults, the injured man received a concussion, a broken nose, and other multiple injuries to his face and head.
