In Naberezhnye Chelny, a search was carried out in the apartment of translator S. Nursi

On December 9, in Naberezhnye Chelny, the FSB and the prosecutor's office searched the apartment of Marat Tamimdarov, the translator of the theologian Said Nursi's books.

At first, representatives of the prosecutor's office and the local FSB tried to enter Tamimdarov's apartment under the guise of plumbers, and when this failed, under the guise of firefighters, they cut out the iron door with an autogenous gun.

Once in the apartment, they said they were looking for extremist literature. The forbidden books were not found, so the searchers confiscated literature in Turkish and a hard drive from M. Tamimdarov's computer.

Then the interpreter and his wife were taken to the prosecutor's office and they tried to interrogate them. M. Tamimdarov refused to answer questions, referring to the absence of a lawyer.

The translator was asked if he was a Turkish spy and was also advised to emigrate to Turkey.

Searches were also carried out at the homes of other people involved in the case of banning Said Nursi's books. In total, the security forces visited 10 apartments. Previously, Nursi's books were searched for in the Tatar-Turkish lyceums of Tatarstan. The searches were carried out as part of the renewed investigation into the case of the Nurcular organization.

Recall that the books of Said Nursi are recognized as extremist literature.
