The "Mercy" bus was shelled in Moscow

On December 16, 2007, at about 10:00 p.m. in Moscow, at the Kursky railway station, a pneumatic weapon was fired at the “Mercy” bus, which was carrying out a routine night raid, the purpose of which is to provide assistance to the homeless (this is a project of the commission on church social activities under the Diocesan Council of Moscow) . In a minute and a half, the unknown attacker fired about ten times. The homeless people and mission staff inside the bus were not injured. One side window was broken.

The head of the project’s bus service, Deacon Oleg Vyshinsky, stated that “this could have been an act of so-called skinheads, who, as you know, constantly beat, set fire and kill homeless people.”

The press service of the Moscow City Internal Affairs Directorate stated that an investigation into the attack on the bus is underway. The results of the investigation should be known within 10 days.
