FEOR is going to financially support large families

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FEOR) announced its intention to pay families, members of Jewish communities, monthly allowances after the birth of their third child. This was announced at the FEOR congress taking place in Moscow on February 18-19. Thus the Federation is going to deal with the demographic crisis.

It is planned to create a department of family policy and demography under FEOR, whose functions will include collecting information about families in need of material support and monitoring the situation in large cities and in Russia as a whole.

According to the FEOR, Russia's Jewry is one of the most "old" communities in the world: 35% of Russian Jews are over 65 and only 7% are under 19.
