On February 27, a seminar was held by the Federal Registration Service with representatives of centralized religious organizations on issues of compliance with the legislation governing their activities.
Lyubov Polyakova, Head of the NGO Control Department, reminded the audience that, in accordance with the requirement of Article 32 of the NGO Law and RF Government Decree No. 212 of April 15, 2006, all non-profit organizations must submit reports on their activities and the composition of their governing bodies. She stressed that in 2007, no strict action was taken against those who failed to report. But in 2008 the Fed will respond more closely to non-reporting. During the meeting, all participants agreed that religious organizations should submit reports on time.
It should be reminded that in November 2007 in the Nizhny Novgorod region the FRS issued a warning to religious associations that did not submit their reports on time.
The seminar also discussed issues of licensing institutions of professional religious education and registration of emblems of religious organizations.
