N. Ashirov’s statement against Zionism outraged the Federation of Jewish Communities

At the March 4 presentation in Moscow of Sergei Komkov's book "Wahhabi", Nafigulla Ashirov gave an extremely negative assessment of Zionism, saying that "Zionism is a cancerous tumor, since Zionism is fascism."

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia called on the Council of Muftis of Russia to give an objective assessment of this statement.

says "This is yet another provocative statement in a series of statements by Nafigulla Ashirov. With his statement, the co-chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia offends the national feelings of the Jews," the FEOR statement . The document also emphasizes that such statements destroy the friendly relations that have developed between the Jewish community of Russia and Russian Muslims.

It should be reminded that in February 2007, N. Ashirov already spoke out with sharp criticism of Zionism, which aroused FEOR indignation.
