On March 20, 2008, anti-Semitic leaflets were found at the entrances of many residential buildings in Novosibirsk. The leaflets urge "Russian parents" to take special care of their children "on the eve of the Jewish Passover." The authors of the leaflets declare that the Jews "steal small children, pump out their blood and knead their sacred food - matzah" on the blood .
According to the rabbi of Novosibirsk, Zalman Zaklas, the Jewish community filed an official complaint with law enforcement agencies against the distributors of leaflets.
