The Presidential Administration responded to the appeal of Islamic Enlightenment regarding the Federal List of Extremist Materials

The Administration of the President of the Russian Federation responded to the appeal of religious and public figures of Karelia regarding the Federal List of Extremist Materials reports on March 23 , Islamnews .

The Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation for Work with Citizens' Appeals considered the questions asked by citizens and instructed the regional ministry for national policy and relations with religious associations to take them under its control.

Acting Minister of the Republic of Karelia Elena Antoshko said that the issue is under the control of the Commission on Religious Associations under the Government of the Russian Federation. In addition, she suggested "as a rational way to solve the problem, to propose to the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the European part of Russia and the Council of Muftis of Russia to apply to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation with the initiative to amend the Federal Legislation of the Russian Federation to develop an effective mechanism for evaluating the content of printed and electronic materials" .
