The trial of Savva Terentyev has begun

On March 31, 2008, the Syktyvkar City Court began considering the case of blogger Savva Terentyev .

The defendant acknowledged the authorship of the comment left by the user terentyev, but did not plead guilty to inciting social discord. According to him, the statement about "unfaithful cops" is his personal opinion, framed in the form of hyperbole, and it applies only to unscrupulous policemen. Terentiev apologized to the former prisoners of the Nazi concentration camps, whom he could unwittingly offend with his comment.

The court recognized that the last examination of Terentyev's statement, which recognized the presence of signs of inciting social discord in it, was carried out with procedural violations and considered it inadmissible evidence.

On April 29, the court, refusing to allow Terentyev's lawyers to conduct a psycholinguistic examination, ordered a socio-humanitarian examination. According to lawyers, the socio-humanitarian examination, which will be conducted by teachers from Syktyvkar University, will lead the court on an erroneous path. Similar examinations have already been carried out twice, and both times their results have been annulled. The defense offered to conduct a psycholinguistic examination at the Russian Federal Expert Center under the Ministry of Justice of Russia in Moscow.

The examination may take at least a month.
