An Orthodox priest consecrated a strip club in Chelyabinsk

In Chelyabinsk, a priest from the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul consecrated the dance floor in a strip club. The owners of the club invited the priest because "they decided to improve the atmosphere to become more positive."

The Chelyabinsk diocese is sure that the priest was deceived. “Father Nikolai was called to consecrate the store. Father is not a local, from a village on the outskirts of the city. He didn’t even know that there was a nightclub here, and not a store. The tables in the room did not arouse suspicion in him. He thought it was an ordinary buffet. By the way, Father Nikolai was asked to consecrate the ‘shop’ for free. He didn’t bring any money to the temple,” said the vicar of the diocese, Bishop Theophylact (Kuryanov) of Magnitogorsk.
