In Yakutia, they are trying to accuse workers of extremism

At the end of April 2008, in the city of Mirny, employees of the diamond-mining joint-stock company ALROSA and lawyer Inga Reitenbach, representing them in a dispute with the employer, were summoned to the prosecutor's office as part of an investigation into accusations of extremism by the company's management.

On February 11, 2008, the administration of the Mirny Road Administration (MUAD), a subdivision of AK ALROSA, received complaints from 68 drivers about violations of their rights. The management of AK ALROSA considered that by their actions four employees of the MUAD, "misleading their colleagues at work, and in places and with the help of forgery of documents, in their personal interests are trying to destabilize the work of the MUAD of AK ALROSA (CJSC)" .

In another division of the same company, at the Nyurba Mining and Processing Plant, in March 2008, employees whose interests are represented by lawyer Inga Reitenbakh turned to the administration with demands for higher wages, fulfillment of labor agreements, and publication in the media of the rationale for the high incomes of the leaders of AK "ALROSA" ". According to the director of the company, these demands "carry all the signs of extremist activity, namely, incitement of social hatred, obstruction of the lawful activities of AK ALROSA. The main purpose of the unscrupulous activities of lawyer Reitenbakh I.V. is to earn income..." .

Some workers were reportedly forced to withdraw their demands for fear of being fired or facing criminal charges.
