The prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region of Perm conducted an inspection of the activities of the local organization of yogis. The audit found that the members of this organization were subjected to mental influence, as a result of which they completely changed their attitude to the world.
"People who ended up in this organization soon abandoned their civic obligations to support their families, take care of their parents, began to spend large sums of money to participate in yoga trainings and seminars," the press service of the prosecutor's office told . Interfax
In particular, two students dropped out of school after attending group classes, severed their relationship with their parents, and moved to a yoga camp in Krasnoyarsk.
The audit materials were sent to the investigative department for the Sverdlovsky district of the city of Perm of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for the Perm Territory to resolve the issue of initiating a criminal case against the head of the organization under part 1 of article 239 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation of a religious or public association whose activities are associated with violence against citizens or with the inducement of citizens to refuse to perform civic duties, as well as the leadership of such an association).
