In Ingushetia, police detained mosque parishioners during prayer

On May 5, in Ingushetia, policemen detained parishioners of one of the mosques in the Plievsky municipal district.

One of the parishioners, Khamzat Gardanov, told the "Caucasian Knot" the details of what had happened: "When we were performing the afternoon prayer, 6-7 armed men in masks burst into the mosque, who did not introduce themselves and, without explaining anything, shouted: "Whose cars are standing on the street? "They literally interrupted our prayer and detained without any explanation three car owners - me, a resident of the Plievsky municipal district Pliev Yusuf, a resident of Malgobek Albakov Murad."

At the same time, the policemen did not show any documents. The detainees were taken to the Nazran police department. They were released after interrogation.

As the "Caucasian Knot" notes, "the parishioners of this mosque, and the mosque itself, have been under pressure from local law enforcement agencies since 1999." In 2003, without a court decision, the mosque was closed; services resumed in it in 2005. The Ministry of Internal Affairs considers parishioners "Wahhabis".
