Leader of the Freedom Party detained in Pskov

May 6, 2008 around 9:00 pm in Pskov, the leader of the neo-Nazi Freedom Party, Yuri Belyaev, was detained. Now he is under arrest. He was charged with Part 1 of Art. 282 (inciting national, racial or religious hatred).

The press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Pskov region reported that Yu. Belyaev was going to be transferred to the Organized Crime Control Department of St. Petersburg, where the nationalist came from.

It is not entirely clear whether Yu. Belyaev's detention is related to the case initiated in August 2007 or whether this is some kind of new criminal case.
