A 14th-century Orthodox church was desecrated in Novgorod

In Veliky Novgorod, the Church of St. Theodore Stratilates of the 14th century. On the altar part, unknown people made the inscription "Old town saints" in black paint - the name of one of the local rap groups.

The temple is an architectural monument of federal significance.

According to RIA Novosti , "over the past year, unidentified vandals have painted the building of the Novgorod noble assembly on Sofiyskaya Square, which now houses the Museum of Fine Arts, the monument to St. Prince Alexander Nevsky on the Volkhov River embankment, and the Victory monument near the Novgorod Kremlin."
