Statistical data on the teaching of military-industrial complex in the Voronezh region
On May 24, a round table was held at the Voronezh Regional Institute for Advanced Training of Education Workers (VOIPKRO) on the issues of teaching “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture” in schools in the region.
In 2007/2008, OPK began to be taught in 270 second grades as part of the regional component. This happened by agreement between the Education Department of the Voronezh Region, the Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers and the Voronezh Diocese. As a result, the number of classes where disciplines of a “spiritual and moral orientation” are taught has more than doubled and reached 524.
In Voronezh itself, where there are 130 schools, defense education is studied in 6 second grades, and a total of 44 spiritual and moral electives are recorded. This is 5 units (this is how one elective is recorded by educational statistics of the Voronezh region) more than in the 2006/2007 academic year.
“OPK and other subjects of “spiritual and moral orientation” in the Voronezh region are taught by: 277 primary school teachers, 54 Russian language teachers, 47 historians, 30 chemists and biologists, 20 mathematicians and physicists, 10 geographers, 7 representatives of school administrations, 6 social educators and psychologists, 5 teachers of additional education and teachers of extended day groups, 24 some “other” education workers, another 30 teachers, according to the report, are united in the group of “teachers of fine arts, world artistic culture and defense industry.”
