Attack on foreigners in Lipetsk

June 15, 2008 in Lipetsk on the street. Zegel, a group of 8 people (according to other sources there were 3 attackers), school and vocational school students, attacked three passers-by, 37-year-old Algerian citizen Alloon Malek, Cameroonian citizen Andelo Paul Magluan and their friend.

According to witnesses, they began to insult a resident of Algeria "on a racial basis" and began "beating foreigners and a woman." One of the attackers wiped the soles of his boots on the trousers of a Cameroonian citizen and insulted him on ethnic grounds.

The attackers took the money from the Algerian citizen and demanded that the Cameroonian citizen go and withdraw more money from an ATM using a credit card. The Cameroonian, along with his companions, went to the ATM. Noticing a police patrol, a resident of Cameroon turned to law enforcement officers for help.

Police officers on Zegelya street detained a 16-year-old young man who remained with an Algerian citizen. The assailant, with a swastika tattoo on his shoulder, was wearing camouflage. Police patrol on the street. Plekhanov caught up and detained two more attackers. One is 16, the other is 18.

One of the detainees "was registered with the police as a skinhead."

A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery). It is possible that the charge will be reclassified to Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred).

On December 11, 2008, the Pravoberezhny Court of Lipetsk delivered a verdict in the case . The court, taking into account the evidence presented, found the 17-year-old teenager guilty and sentenced him to a 2.5-year suspended sentence with a two-year probationary period.
