The Russian Orthodox Church intends to seek government funding for teaching subjects that meet state standards in Orthodox educational institutions

The final document of the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church speaks of the need for state funding for the teaching of subjects that meet the state standard in Orthodox general educational institutions. According to the authors of the document, "this will avoid discrimination of students based on the choice of a non-state educational institution."

In addition, "the participants in the Council express their wish that the state authorities finance the higher theological educational institutions of the Russian Church, by analogy with the financing of theological education of other religious communities."
