An investigation into the beating of a homeless man by teenagers has been completed in Omsk

At the end of June 2008, in Omsk, a criminal investigation was completed under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy based on hatred or enmity against any social group, resulting in negligence death of the victim), initiated against two teenagers suspected of beating a homeless man.

The investigation established that on April 15, 2008, a 14-year-old teenager offered his 15-year-old friend to beat up a homeless person. Teenagers came to a car wash in the Kirov district of the city and, having found a homeless man on the heating pipes, began to severely beat him, striking him with his hands and feet on the head and body. On the evening of the next day, they beat the same man again, causing him to die a day later.

Young people are taken into custody. The criminal case has been sent to the district attorney for approval of the indictment.

Note that, as far as we know, this is the first criminal case of an attack on a homeless person, the motive for which was recognized as "hatred or enmity towards any social group . " At the same time, the homeless, due to the weakness of their social position, are often the object of attacks by thugs.
