In Cherepovets, the court sentenced two creators of the extremist newspaper "Artomans"

On July 29, 2008, the city court of Cherepovets (Vologda Oblast) delivered a verdict in the case of two founders of the Artomans newspaper, which was recognized as extremist and included in the federal list of extremist materials .

Defendants Yuri Gagarin and Alexander Skvortsov are charged with Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities). For several years, the authors in the newspaper called for "a national uprising and hatred for Jews, Americans, Africans, people from the Caucasus, Chinese . " They also called for forgetting about the "constitutional system", published insulting cartoons and Nazi symbols on the pages of the newspaper. And the names of the newspaper articles themselves are of a specific nature: "Triumph of the Will", "Skinhead", "ABC of Slavic Skinheads" .

On May 1, 2006, the defendants also held a concert "White Riot - 1!" there at the music school number 4, and after some time they held a concert "White Riot - 2" . Between songs, the musicians shouted curses from the stage (it is not clear if they had a nationalist character) and threw up their hands in a Nazi salute. Gagarin recorded the concerts on a video camera, and the discs with the video were distributed among the readers of the newspaper as well.

The case was considered in a special order, without a trial. The mitigating circumstance was "the full recognition of one's guilt and repentance for what one had done . " Yuri Gagarin was sentenced to three years probation with a two-year probationary period. Alexander Skvortsov was sentenced in the fall of 2007 to six years in prison for beating a person of a different nationality (unfortunately, the details of this case could not be found), and therefore, when the judge at this trial sentenced him to a year and a half in prison, his total term was seven and a half years in a strict regime colony.
