In Novocheboksarsk, the investigation into the case of a group of Nazi skinheads has been completed

In August 2008, the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for Chuvashia completed the investigation of a criminal case against a group of Nazi skinheads.

According to investigators, the group of Dmitry Ilyin ("Cactus") and Evgeny Ogurtsov ("Cucumber"), which was created in 2004, included up to three dozen people - students of technical schools and universities of Chuvashia aged 17 to 22 years. However, only 7 people are involved in the case.

The group is charged with a series of attacks on people of non-Slavic appearance and representatives of youth subcultures, distribution of leaflets and other propaganda of a pronounced ethno-nationalist (mainly anti-Caucasian) and anti-Islamic nature, and acts of vandalism. However, exactly how many violent episodes the group has accounted for is not reported.

It is believed that the first "action" of the group was the destruction of a shoe workshop owned by an ethnic Armenian in 2004 - the premises were destroyed, and anti-Caucasian inscriptions were left on its walls. The last episode, after which arrests began, was an attack on rappers on February 6, 2008, in which two people were injured.

A criminal case was initiated on chch. 1 and 2 Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation and participation in an extremist community). Later the qualification was changed. At present, all defendants are charged under par. "a" and "c" part 2 of Art. 282 (incitement of national and religious hatred by an organized group with the use of violence), Ch. 1 and 2 Art. 213 ("Hooliganism with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement or by an organized group"), Art. 214 ("Vandalism"), art. 116 ("Beatings").
