In August 2008, several attacks with firearms were committed in the central regions of Perm. At least three people were injured as a result of these attacks, one of them is in intensive care. In addition, in the same area of the city, the body of a man was discovered, shot in the back.
The first attack took place on August 10 (according to other sources, August 15) in the Industrial district of the city. The man was seriously wounded by a large-caliber hunting bullet. The second attack, which ended in death, occurred on August 17 (according to other sources, on August 18) in the Krokhalev microdistrict, the third - on the evening of August 21 on Krylova Street. Then two sellers of the Central Market were wounded with one shot - a man, a native of Kyrgyzstan, and a woman, who were returning from work.
The attacker took nothing from his victims and fled. Witnesses described the characteristics of the attacker.
The attacks, which the investigation classified as nationalist, became known from the report of the detention of a suspect in these crimes. The latter does not deny his involvement in the attacks, saying that he carried them out “based on the theory of superiority.”
It is possible that several more attacks and murders will be added to the initial charges - at present, according to the investigation, the detainee’s involvement in other similar criminal episodes has been established.
On January 6, 2009, the suspect committed suicide in the pre-trial detention center; proceedings in the case were discontinued on January 30, 2009.
