On September 4, 2008, in Izhevsk, Vasily Kryukov (deputy head of the Udmurt regional organization of the Narodnaya Volya party) was detained in the building of the prosecutor's office of Udmurtia. The Investigative Committee of the RF Investigative Committee for the Udmurt Republic reported that V. Kryukov was detained for "failing to comply with the conditions of the chosen preventive measure and not appearing when summoned by investigators."
The court is going to change the measure of restraint against the deputy "from recognizance not to leave the place to detention."
Law enforcement officials stated that since September 1, 2008, V. Kryukov "hid his whereabouts, in connection with which, the investigation decided to put him on the wanted list."
Recall that V. Kryukov is charged under Art. 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against government officials) and Art. 319 (insulting a representative of authority). V. Kryukov was detained for resisting the police on November 30, 2006, in connection with which a case was initiated against him. On that day, Udmurt police officers attempted to search the office of the Izhevsky Zavod UROO in connection with a case of dissemination of nationalist materials, and Kryukov tried to resist them. Later, another fact appeared in the criminal case - the deputy is suspected of hitting a traffic police inspector who detained him for driving a car without documents.
In May 2007, Kryukov was charged and offered to familiarize himself with the case file. All this time the deputy was under house arrest. Law enforcement officials said that "for a long time, the accused Kryukov evaded and dragged out the process of familiarizing himself with the materials of the criminal case."
