On September 29, 2008, in the forest near the village of Melkombinat-2 (Central District of Chelyabinsk), the body of 46-year-old citizen of the People's Republic of China Qiao Jiuzian was found with 14 stab wounds to the body and neck. On that day, the man went to the forest for mushrooms, where, after a while, his compatriots found him dead.
A criminal case has been initiated under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). The investigation considers two versions of the murder - unfamiliar men from hooligan motives and acquaintances from hostile relations.
The deceased Chinese worked as a carpenter at one of the local enterprises.
The suspects were detained in Chelyabinsk in early February 2009. They were charged under paragraphs. "g", "l" part 2 of Art. 105 (murder committed by a group of persons, motivated by racial, national hatred) February 10, 2009.
