Yuri Belyaev was sentenced

On October 10, 2008, the Krasnoselsky Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Yury Belyaev, leader of the ultra-right Party of Freedom (PS), under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred or enmity), to 6 months in prison with a sentence to be served in a colony-settlement .

It is not yet known whether the defense and prosecution parties will appeal this verdict.

Recall that in March 2006, Yuri Belyaev posted an article on the Internet : They killed a black man, killed a bitch; , which became the reason for initiating another criminal case against him. In May 2007, a decision was made to bring Yury Belyaev as a defendant, but he fled from the investigation. He was chosen in absentia as a measure of restraint in the form of arrest and put on the wanted list. In May 2008 he was detained in Pskov.

We also recall that in the first criminal case initiated against him, Yuri Belyaev was sentenced in August 2006 to a suspended sentence.
