On October 7, 2008, two robberies were committed in the Troparevo-Nikulino area. As the attackers themselves later stated, they chose their victims according to ethnic principle: “We watched a video of how our schoolchildren are being robbed ... comrades who are not quite Slavic in appearance, and after drinking, they decided to do the same, and since it’s not safe to hold on their hands " , we wanted to throw them out .
The first attack took place in the area of house number 84 on Prospect Vernadsky. The victims were a couple of Muscovites of non-Slavic appearance (natives of Kalmykia), who told the police that they were attacked by six young men armed with knives, a hammer and "sharpening", took away their mobile phones and money and disappeared towards residential buildings.
It soon became known that a group similar in description had made another attack - near house number 7 on Akademika Anokhin Street. The victim was a Korean citizen.
Six attackers managed to be detained almost red-handed.
