Homeless people killed in Novokuybyshevsk

At the beginning of October 2008, in Novokuibyshevsk (Samara region), three homeless people were killed in one of the vacant lots on the outskirts of the city: two men and a woman.

One of the killed, 29-year-old Sergei Kuzmin, had a swastika cut into his back and his hands and head were cut off. S. Kuzmin's hand with a note attached was planted in the St. Seraphim Church on October 9, 2008. The contents of the note can be interpreted as representing a murder in revenge for pedophilia, but law enforcement officials say that no such crimes have been recorded in the area recently.

Various versions of the incident are being worked out and “various informal youth movements” are being tested.

On May 5, 2009, it became known that a few months earlier a homeless man had been detained on suspicion of this murder. “The citizen is in the status of an accused. He is currently undergoing a psychological and psychiatric examination,” the regional prosecutor’s office said. Now the main version of the investigation in the case initiated under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder), is a ritual murder.
